Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

At ClipMint, we prioritize your privacy and transparency. This policy outlines how we handle your data, video files, and personal information when you use our services.

2. Local Data Storage

We use browser-based technologies to process your work efficiently and securely:

• IndexedDB:When you upload a video to the Studio, the raw file is stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB system. This allows for fast access and playback without repeated re-uploads.
• Local Storage: We use Local Storage to save your project metadata (e.g., subtitle timing matches, style preferences) so you can resume your work if you close the tab.

Note: Clearing your browser cache or data will remove these locally stored files.

3. Third-Party Processing

To provide high-quality AI features, we work with trusted partners:

• Transcription Services: When you generate subtitles, your uploaded audio or the audio track of your video is securely transmitted to our specialized AI partners for transcription. These partners process the audio solely for the purpose of returning text and do not use your data to train their models.
• Bot Protection:To keep guest transcription free and prevent automated abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile verifies your browser in the background and may collect device and browsing signals to tell humans apart from bots. This processing is covered by Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

4. Server Storage & Retention

When you export a final video, the rendering process occurs on our cloud infrastructure.

We do not retain copies of your user-generated content beyond this window. Project metadata (e.g., your export history logs) is retained in our database to show your usage history, but the media files themselves are gone.

5. User Account Data

If you create an account, we store your email address and authentication details securely via Supabase. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.

Before signup, the limited Studio offer uses a signed browser cookie and pseudonymous abuse-prevention signals. We do not store raw device fingerprints or raw IP addresses in the promotion records. Guest media sent for transcription or Cloud Export is processed only to provide the requested result and remains subject to the retention rules above.

6. Marketing Emails

We only send product updates and captioning tips to people who asked for them. You can say yes when you create your account or sign in, from the prompt in your dashboard, or any time from Profile → Email preferences. Saying no is the default: if you never opted in, we do not email you about the product.

Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link that works in one click and does not require signing in. We record when you opted in or out and the wording you were shown, so your choice is provable — and we keep that record even if you delete your account, so an unsubscribe is never undone by accident.

Service emails are separate and are not marketing: confirming your address, resetting your password, receipts for purchases, and notices about your files or credits. Those are sent whatever your marketing preference is, because they are part of running your account.
